Attempting to Make Bath Bombs
Staff: This time you tried to bath bombs. How was it to actually give it a try?
Yuri: It was really interesting, and easier than I thought! I think it’s great that I was able to exactly know and properly select the ingredients that would go with one own’s condition. I would buy lots of bathing powders when I went to Japan, but I’d buy various ones with different effects. However when I made them myself, I could freely adjust the ingredients and choose the fragrance and other favored items, so it was really nice! I believe it’d be perfect as a present, too!
Staff: Hereafter, if you were to make a bath bomb, do you have any thoughts that “I want to try making it like this!”
Yuri: I think it’d be nice to include something mysterious inside the bath bomb. So when the bath bomb melts, it’d float in the water! For example, a message with a heart pattern would float up. There would be one message per bath bomb and it’d be random, so it’d be like a fortune cookie where you’d predict that day’s luck… It seems so fun!
Staff: That seems like it’d be a commodity immediately!
Yuri: Really? I wonder if I shouldn’t have said anything? (laughs) It’s also interesting to think about the seasons, like during Christmas a written message from Santa would be inside a Santa Claus bath bomb.
Staff: What kind of bath bomb would you give to the members?
Yuri: If I was to choose to fit each of their images… First, Seohyun’s would be an oatmeal color. She values health and I think it’d would fit the calm air that she has. A pink one would of course go to the lover of pink, Tiffany! I’d want to give Taeyeon a purple colored one mixed with dried roses. It’s because purple really suits Taeyeon. And then, Yoona! If I were to give her one with dried roses mixed with mint color, it’d be ladylike, but also have an image of a woman. I have a feeling that just like how she’s in between a lady and woman, it’d fit Yoona’s image now. For Hyoyeon, it was included in today’s materials, but black from charcoal powder. It’s a very unique image, but I feel like it’ll fit her well. For Sunny, cypress powder with a sense of green added from leaves. I think the green color would really suit the active image she has. For Sooyoung, cocoa powder mixed with the yellow powder from jasmine seeds. It’s really strong in individuality! I first saw a bath bomb with this kind of color and I believe it’d suit her well.
Staff: Yuri, do you think that you’re skillful with your hands? Also, how about the other members?
Yuri: I think that all the members are skillful with their hands. However, I’m very curious, so from when I was young I liked to try making things hands on, so that may be why I became naturally good with my hands. During elementary school, my favorite subject was art. I liked to draw pictures, but I loved to make crafts with my hands!

Staff: Baths seem to be good for health and beauty, however are there any habits that you do regularly for your health?
Yuri: I love herbs and to make my home have the fragrance of herbs, I always place them around my home. I’m careful about ventilation, but the herbal fragrance purifies the air and it also becomes stress relief. Also, I really anticipate when the herbs that I grow can be used for cooking like pasta.
Staff: In a previous interview, you mentioned how you like bathing powders, so that’s why we had this plan this time. Next time, if you were to try out something out, what would it be?
Yuri: A little while ago I actually was thinking about that (laughs) Because next time if they let me do what I want, I have to properly think it over! (laughs) Next time…chocolate would be nice! I like coffee, but Yoona already did that, right? So I’d like to try something with chocolate. Or perfume would be nice, too~! There are many types of perfumes as well, so I think it’d be great if I could make an original perfume of my own!
Staff: Please share what you’ve been up to and activities that left an impression on you to everyone in SONE JAPAN.
Yuri: In July I just finished filming a drama, and in August I started filming another drama! Above all, after a long time, I had the good luck to see SONE JAPAN at SMTOWN!! I was really happy to go to Osaka and Tokyo and see everyone! Something that left an impression on me was that during the drama filming, the character I was portraying was really like me! Her personality is pretty much the same as mine; she’s very energetic and happy, like a ball that you don’t know where it’s going. Her expressions are sincere and her age is similar to mine. During filming, I couldn’t get enough sleep for about two months, but the energy I received from that character was too much and I had an enjoyable and fun time! When Yoona came to visit the filming set, she said, “It seems like you found the perfect character, I’m so jealous!” I was also sad when the drama ended and I had to part from the role, so when the filming ended I hesitated to tell all the fans over SNS. The love I have for that role is great. That’s why performing that role was the happiest moment and the most impressionable for me.
SNSD These Days
Staff: Recently, is there anything that the members talk about a lot or is popular among you all?
Yuri: Some time ago, we all gathered for Sunny and Yoona’s birthday party, and we really talked a lot about our individual activities. There’s a lot of us, so it’s enjoyable to just be able to listen to our eight stories. When we all meet up, we talk about our recent happenings and we often talk about episodes on filming sets. And then we even have a real time group chat where we talk about interesting dramas and TV programs, and we definitely talk about that when we meet. We also talk about delicious food, good restaurants, our favorite things, what we recently bought!
Staff: Has what you all talk about changed from when you debuted?
Yuri: It’s the same. Exactly the same. Really (laughs) Ah! There is something that has changed! We talk about the new groups. When we just debuted, we couldn’t talk about that, but we can now.
Staff: On the SONE JAPAN site, we’ve added a survey system for things like fanclub members gathering ideas for goods. Is there anything that you’d like to ask the members?
Yuri: Actually, the fanclub members probably know SNSD better than anyone else. Particularly, a characteristic of Japanese fans is how they are collectors. I’m happy that they really think there’s value for having SNSD related items. They won’t buy one, they’d collect the whole series. I’m really surprised and thankful. That’s why I believe they know our history better than anyone and I’m really happy to get ideas from them. Like getting designs for outfits that they want SNSD to wear onstage! I want to make an opportunities like where we would produce the outfits they designed and we’d wear them onstage. For example, we would decide which song and the image of what kind of remix, then for that image they would design each of our outfits. Then each of the members would choose from the collected ideas… When we appear on stage wearing the outfits, I believe that would make a really good event. It’d be a new memory with SONE JAPAN!
Staff: Finally, a message to SONE JAPAN, please.
Yuri: I always want to see everyone and I always want to give good news. Please always look over us ^^ Always, thank you so much for supporting SNSD’s activities!
