Taeyeon & Talk

Part 1: Trying out Glue Gun Art

Staff: So you just tried out glue gun art, was this your first time handling a glue gun?

Taeyeon: I’ve touched one before, but I’ve never tried using one like this. The stylist often uses one when arranging our outfits, so I’ve seen it being used and have touched it but… it was interesting because I haven’t thought that you could express art with a glue gun.

Staff: How was it to actually try using a glue gun?

Taeyeon: It was difficult to glue the decorations in a shape that wouldn’t collapse. I gripped the glue gun too hard and then too much glue came out and I didn’t know what to do. When I tried to lift the glue gun after putting on some glue, it stretched into a thin thread that looked like a spider web. It was really hard at first.

Staff: But it seemed that you slowly got used to it! This time you got to choose which item to decorate. Is there a reason why you chose a wreath?

Taeyeon: I wanted to attach a lot of flowers and make a garland! The reason I decided to make a garland is because it’s cute no matter when or who wears it! I was particular about the combination of my favorite pale colors. I’ve taken a liking to it because it came out cute ^^ This would be cute even if you hung it somewhere at home.

Staff: The first piece you made using a glue gun came out cute. Do you think you’re good with your fingers?

Taeyeon: I believe I’m pretty good with my fingers!

Staff: Are there any other members who are good at things like this?

Taeyeon: Sunny? I don’t know if she’s good with her hands, but Sunny is really good at making anything. Things like LEGOs and puzzles… She’s really good at these kind of things, so I think she can skillfully make glue gun art. Also, Yoona has a feminine side, so I believe she’d be good at making these. I think she would sit silently, concentrate, and carefully make it.

Staff: I believe that you mastered how to use a glue gun today, but is there anything that you’d like to try making by yourself next time?

Taeyeon: I personally didn’t know there was this kind of art. I experienced it for the first time now, so I want to collect a lot of information, then find various things to make and then try it out! I’m looking forward to it ^^

Staff: If you were to challenge something again for a fan club project from now, what would you like to try?

Taeyeon: I want to study photography and then take pictures! I want to get good at taking photos, so I want to learn from a photographer! Not selfies, I want to take pictures of things and scenery! Also, it’d be nice to try taking artistic photos using lighting ^^

Part 2: A Message to Everyone

Staff: Please share with SONE JAPAN a recent episode that left an impression during your activities.

Taeyeon: Something that left an impression to me recently was when I went to Jeju Island for a photoshoot. With the mood of, “I’m on holiday!”, I ran around to my heart’s content, and had fun with the shoot. My mood completely changed and it was great that I had this chance. However it was a little cold… ^^

Then, I went to Los Angeles to film my solo album’s music video. It was so fun to shoot in LA, so when you see the music video, I believe you’ll see how fun is expressed on my face (laughs) By all means, please check out the music video again!

Also, I was actually under the weather last year, and I had trouble recording the songs for my solo. However, I started exercising this year and I’ve prepared and paid attention to my health, so it’s been very good! The nasal inflammation that I was worried about has pretty much healed.

Staff: What kind of exercise are you doing?

Taeyeon: I usually do weight training at the gym.

Staff: Have you gained a little muscle?

Taeyeon: It’d be good to…Haha, I’ll try ^^

Staff: On the SONE JAPAN site, we’ve added a survey system like fanclub members gathering ideas for goods. Is there anything that you’d like to ask the members?

Taeyeon: I’d like to ask during what times do you start to miss SNSD. Everyone respectively has various reasons so it’s interesting, right? (laughs) For example, I got too much stress built up, or I want to run away from something and SNSD comes to mind as the exit. I would like to hear these kinds of specific reasons.

Staff: Finally, a message for SONE JAPAN, please.

Taeyeon: SONE JAPAN, I really want to see you and I miss you all! I want to see you all soon in Japan. Also, I’m really trying my best to study Japanese because I want to convey my own feelings directly in Japanese. I want to attempt directly speaking for myself and not through another person. I’m always thinking of SONE JAPAN. Language is something that if you don’t continually and constantly study for, it won’t stick so it’s difficult… But, I’m making study time, even just a little bit, and I’ll try my best from now on to give greetings to SONE JAPAN in my own words!
