Staff: We asked this recently when you just started trying horseback riding, but how was the shoot for SONE NOTE LIVE this time?

Hyoyeon: That’s right, I started horseback riding a little while ago! So, I think  was good timing that I got to try horseback riding through the shoot this time (laughs) The weather was great and I had a fulfilling time!

Staff: Please share how you started riding horses.

Hyoyeon: I heard that if you ride horses, your posture will improve, so that’s how I got interested in it!

Staff: What kind of horse was your partner today?

Hyoyeon: He was really obedient and a very good boy! Right, left, stop, etc, he naturally caught on to my intentions and signals, so I was very impressed.

Staff: It looked as if the horse got attached to you, but what was your secret to catch his heart?

Hyoyeon: I knew this from starting horseback riding, but it seems that horses are the animals that can communicate their intentions best with humans. However, horses are shy animals, so after spending time with them by feeding them and giving them a lot of praise, they will remember it. When you can’t get along with them, give them cube sugar. Sugar is said to be the source of their energy!

Staff: Hyoyeon, you have a dog and it seems like you like animals.

Hyoyeon: When I was a kid, there was a time that I lived at my grandmother’s house, and she had chickens, dogs, and other animals, so I always played with them. Also, ever since I had my own dog, I’ve come to strongly think that animals are part of the family; they really are an important presence!

Staff: Starting with horseback riding, you’re really good at sports, but were you good at them from when you were a child? Do you have any sports that you were good at or that were your favorites when you were a child?

Hyoyeon: Races! I was better at running long distance than short distance! Also, I was good at jump rope. When we had a jump rope meet at schools, I was always the last one remaining (laughs) It seems like I have endurance.

Staff: In horseback riding, there are various styles like score competitions and riding horses just to ride along trails, but if you had the chance, which kind of style of horseback riding would you want to enjoy?

Hyoyeon: I want to try dressage even though there seems like there are styles that include jumping over obstacles! It’s as if the horse is dancing! If I had the chance I’d try that out.

Staff: Actually, it was said that Seohyun also tried out horseback riding before. If you were to enjoy horseback riding with Seohyun, where would you want to go?

Hyoyeon: I heard that Seohyun got to experience horseback riding from a drama. Once my level has improved, I’d like to enjoy horseback riding with Seohyun while fully enjoying the atmosphere among nice scenery.

Staff: SNSD is heading towards their 10th anniversary this year, looking back were there any events that left an impression on you?

Hyoyeon: During 10th years we received a lot of awards, and there were various events that left an impression, but the most impressive was the Tokyo Dome concert! We were able to spend time together with SONE JAPAN in such a big venue, so the Tokyo Dome concert especially unforgettable.

Staff: Finally, a message for SONE JAPAN please.

Hyoyeon: I’m always reading your words of support on SNS. In order to read the Japanese comments I refer to a dictionary (laughs) I write in Korean while everyone writes in Japanese, and although the language is different, I believe that our hearts understand one another, and I’m always missing you all.
