Sooyoung: It was harder than I thought! Usually, I’ve been given flower cakes on birthdays, etc., and they were so pretty so I wanted to make one myself one day. I had a lot of fun actually making one ^^
Staff: You made the flower motifs well, but among the members who is skillful with their hands?
Sooyoung: I’m bad at drawing and when I was a child I was bad at origami as well, so I thought I was just clumsy. However, I recently picked up golf and I’ve been praised a lot by my golf teacher, and I’ve heard that those who have skilled hands are good at golf, so I’ve started to think that, “I’m surprisingly good with my hands?” ^^ (laughs)
Staff: You concentrated so much when making the cake, but are there times when usually “if I do this, I forget about the time”?
Sooyoung: When I’m cooking! When I bake bread, too. I really like making cakes and breads, but the house I moved into doesn’t have an oven, so recently I’ve been cooking instead of making sweets.
Staff: What’s your best dish?
Sooyoung: Curry hot pot! I really like curry hot pot.
Staff: If you were to make a flower cake for each member, what kind of cakes would you like to give to them?
Sooyoung: Let’s see, for example if I was to make one for Taeyeon, I’d want to make a cake that uses her beloved purple. I would want to use small purple flowers like lilac or lavender as the motif. Sea lavender would be wonderful, too. I’m sure Taeyeon would love it ^^ I’m bursting with all the different images for each member!
Staff: As for flower cakes, they have an image of being for weddings, celebrations, and special days. If you were to make one for SNSD’s 10th anniversary, what kind of cake would you make?
Sooyoung: SNSD’s image color is pink, so I want to make a cake with pink flowers as a motif. I think pink tulips would be good? Pink tulips are wonderful even in the language of flowers so I really like them. Ah! In Korea, pink roses in flower language mean “happy love”. A rose cake would be good, too! ^^
Staff: What sweets do you usually like and eat?
Sooyoung: Macaroons. The other day, I ate macaroons at the cafe I went to, and they didn’t just have a sweet filling, but there was also thin mochi inside, it was very delicious!
Staff: I think that girls get excited when they see cute things, but when do you get excited?
Sooyoung: When I take pictures of pretty girls. That’s why it’s fun to take pictures when the members all get together. I get really excited the moment I take the members’ best shots with a wonderful background. (laughs)
Staff: Before you tried golf and this time you tried making a cake, so what would you like to try next or is there a place you would like to go to?
Sooyoung: I want to try making furniture! I tried making a whole dining table before and it seemed difficult… (laughs) I want to try making a chair or a simple bookshelf.
Staff: This year is SNSD’s 10th anniversary. Looking back what was the most impressive event?
Sooyoung: When all is said and done, the Tokyo Dome concert was the most impressive. It was an event where I could say my dream came true and since it was a goal to have a concert at Tokyo Dome, it was really memorable ^^
Staff: Finally, a message for SONE JAPAN, please.
Sooyoung: SONE JAPAN, recently the chances to see you all have been few, so I really want to see you. I’m always thankful when I sometimes browse Instagram and see your greetings and warm welcomes. I hope that the day I can see you all is soon. Thank you always!
